  My awakening and concern

  good evening everyone, i go by issa.

  as many former ex-witnesses, i "woke up" from believing that the jw org is the "truth".

  this happened during this month thanks to information from jw-facts and youtube videos about ex-witnesses' experience in this org.

  Did Jesus pre exist? Yes or no?

  when i first became a witness, i always found the teaching about jesus being the arch angel michael hard to swallow.

  i did however believe that jesus pre existed as a master worker alongside god (the first of his creation).. but now everything is brought into question having watched anthony buzzard explain why jesus could not have pre existed as it is impossible to pre exist yourself.

  also the fact that it all sounds contradictory to suggest, he was already alive millions of years before he was transferred to mary's womb to be born as a human - the son of man?.

  One day in the future we shall all know for a certainty. Before he took the temporary "demotion" to human status in order to learn obedience and to show us "The Way" I do believe he was the "firstborn son." We haven't any idea what that truly means yet; such as how did his original birth take place; was he created in a manner similar to Adam? I dunno. But, one day we shall know for sure...

  why jw's commit suicide?

  we all know the rate of suicide is high among jw's.

  my question is this- was there some subliminal messages that encourage this.

  i was a born in and my entire life i would have these thoughts that could come out of nowhere,"kill yourself.

  The WTBorg Inc. program of Cult Mind Control does include carefully designed mentally implanted "cues" to produce feelings of very deep depression, even to the extent of self-destruction, should those who are vulnerable think or act out desires to depart from the Borg. This technique is well developed in government sponsored mind control programs such as MK Ultra and Monarch. The intent is to effectively silence any "apostates" who would dare leave the controlled group.

  The implanted fear based "cues" are activated by doubting thoughts and are capable of inducing a severely impaired reasoning ability such that death seems a natural course of action.

  It is truly sick in its effectiveness. So much so that "normal" thinking people simply cannot comprehend.

  How to convince someone to leave.

  i'm currently in a jehovah's witnesses household, which is very deep into the "truth".

  i woke up a few months ago, and i haven't told my parents yet.

  Very positive development!

  The videos have been very helpful and some are very, very good. I'd put Apostate Chick in that very, very good category. Her videos are candidly humorous while offering poignant critical thinking stimuli.

  Why Are More JWs Claiming to be Anointed?

  most jws i know claim they are happy being in the great crowd.

  they'd rather live on a paradise earth and pet lions than go to heaven.. heaven is a place they can't relate to, a place where they don't expect their friends and loved ones to be.. so why are more and more jws claiming to be of the anointed?.

  aren't they looked down upon as if they are crazy, proud, ignorant, or engaging in apostate thinking?.

  I was thinking more along the lines of "Trance" as in Hypnotic Trance. Anyone, in my opinion, who would cling to any WTBorg unique fear laden beliefs must be in some sort of Cult Induced Trance.

  
  I haven't examined all of the new sects and their beliefs. Probably won't. What I've seen thus far is that they're to some extent simply "echo chambers" for The Cult while claiming to forge new territory.

  i'm honestly in awe about this particular scripture (and honestly i can't keep thanking jwfacts enough for providing biblical contradictions to the jw doctrine!).

  "john said to him: "teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.

  " but jesus said: "do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; for he that is not against us is for us.

  Super questions! The so-called "Good News" that the WTBorg "preach" in their recruiting efforts really isn't very good news. It's some really bad news borrowed from certain sects of Christendom which is heavy on the Fear component. Why would a God, for whom all things are possible, even think about throwing a "destruction" tantrum to eternally annihilate most of the human race to prove His Love for the World? The message at John 3:16 is certainly much bigger than that!

  Happily, there is indeed some Really Good News which demonstrates a Love which covers ALL.
  

  Some Bible Scholars have truly gotten it right!

  There are in fact "anointed" who are loyally in the WTBorg and other "anointed" who are disfellowshipped out of the WTBorg. Some of those who are out appear to be forming new sects which claim to support the Basic WT Truths while introducing new doctrine in opposition to the WTBorg Governing Body. One who claims to be "anointed" and has developed some followers is e-watchman. The WT Society is effectively splitting up into several different flavored sects with varying blends of active JDubs and Apostate followers.

  One can only wonder how this will continue to develop. The WTBorg Inc. GB must be well aware of how the "religion" is being trance-formed but what can it do? Very interesting times indeed!

  Help/Advice on Birthday Present

  i have a very xjw type problem, i am invited to my cousin's 70th birthday party, and really don't know what to buy him.. i only met him a couple of months ago, as my jw parents never encouraged the non-jw side of the family, so i don't know much about him, except that he is retired and his hobby is sailing his boat.. i don't have contact details for his kids etc to ask them for ideas, so could you come up with something please ?

  not too extravagant, i am a poor pensioner !

  but, it is his 70th.. thanks in advance for any tips !.

  Sailors tend not to be picky and are quite easily pleased. Something about the love of the Sea and Sailing that accomplishes remarkable transformation.

  Anything that is given with love and respect is welcomed. Even a simple request to accompany the Skipper on his craft on one of his outings.

  Yeah, our language can be coarse at times. But we're really lovers of life and all that is good.
